When we think of being thankful our minds automatically go to the Thanksgiving Holiday. I think being thankful and showing gratitude is a state of mind that we must cultivate and practice daily in order to be happy and content. Billy Graham put it this way;"Nothing turns us into bitter, selfish, dissatisfied people more quickly than an ungrateful heart. And nothing will do more to restore contentment and the joy of our salvation than a true spirit of thankfulness."
I would like to share with you some of the things I am truly thankful for.
My Lord & Savior Jesus Christ
My Husband who has brought so much joy to my life, I am truly blessed.
My two sons and 2 daughters that are so unique and different they are my box of sweet chocolates
My Daughter and Son in Law's that I love, they are a helpmate to my grown children and parents to my grandchildren
My 3 Grandsons and 4 Granddaughters, Oh what fun they are. They are a laugh a minute and and a great source of joy.
My Friends, they are my support and my rock. They love me no matter what I look like or how I feel. They are the light at the end of the tunnel that I run to when I need the sunlight. I have many wonderful friends, I am very blessed.
My siblings and their families and other extended family members from my side and my husbands side; what blessings they have been all my life. God is good.
My home and provisions. I know there are people around the world that struggle to obtain these simple necessities, I am blessed and very thankful.
My Church family and my Pastor and his family. What a blessing they have been.
Gifts from God that help me support and encourage others
Beautiful Sunshine and rain, trees, flowers and the land, oceans and lakes, sunrise and sunset's. All these restore me when I spend the time to enjoy them and their beauty.
All God's creatures how marvelous!
These are a few of the things I am thankful for, there are many more. I know that I also need to be thankful in all situations which is hard sometimes. I must not just say I have faith I must act on my faith and part of that is believing God is in control. God loves our thankful hearts just as we love it when our children or our husbands are thankful for what we do for them. I believe that gratitude is a joyful expression of a deliberate heart of praise.
I will end this blog with this Bible verse from I Thessalonians 5:16-18
Be joyful always; pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday
