My black-eyed susans put a smile on my face. They bloom late in the summer and into early fall. They are so happy looking with there bright yellow petals. The big black centers are the seeds that fall to the ground and come up as new plants in the spring. They live an easy, care free life just being what they were meant to be without anything more than dirt and water. They are so beautiful and I get to enjoy them year after year.
In the fall I also love all the beautiful leaves and the smell of those colorful leaves on the ground. When I was a kid my friends and I would rake all the leaves into an outline of a house with rooms. Because there were so many leaves, we could make a house as big as we wanted. We would play in the leaves for hours on a warm fall day. Fall is a wonderful time of year and the trees just do what they were made to do and it is beautiful.
It's funny how the sight and smell of things remind us of a time in our past. Some of my best memories have to do with beautiful warm days, beautiful scenery and beautiful people. When I say beautiful people, I mean beautiful inside. People that have a warm loving personality and are fun to be with. These people truly have a natural beauty. Just like the black-eyed susans, they glow and make us smile. They too, are just being completely natural. People gravitate to those type of people just like they do flowers because they enrich their lives. They are able to let go of all the nonsense of the world and trust in the Lord. They don't feel like they have to be someone they are not. They are free to be the one of a kind person they were created to be. That is beautiful..
The way you think and feel on the inside will come out and make you appealing or appalling. How do you make the change? By getting into the word of God. By praying and asking God for help. My book, " S.O.A.P. How To Clean Up Your Stinking Thinking One Day At A Time" was written especially for the purpose of helping people become the people they were meant to be. You can read more about my book on the main page of this website, sallystierhoff.com
I have been in a place where I struggled to be beautiful within. I struggled to see the beautiful things in my life. In my book I write about my journey to freedom. I still have pain. As I am writing this my head is really hurting and it's hard to think. I have had migraines for years but I don't let them control my life and I don't sit around complaining about them either. I am not going to let them keep me from seeing beauty and experiencing joy. I just keep claiming His healing and I have recently started juicing and eating a healthier diet to help my body heal. I believe God's word and I don't stress about these things anymore. I just give it all to God and trust Him. I often pray, "Lord help" and continue on with what I need to do. Just like now, my pain is going away and I am continuing on with this article. God is good.
I found a neat Bible verse to share.
Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
When I walk outside and enjoy nature, or sit and talk with people, or receive hugs from my family and friends, I can see and feel God's creation. It's there, it's evident. To me it is "clearly seen". and it is very beautiful. Natural - God's divine nature. The beautiful nature of God!
I hope you can get outside and connect with God's nature this fall.
Please feel free to leave me a comment. I love getting them.
