Can anything be cuter than babies and puppies, or baby animals of any kind? What a joy! They just make me happy. I became an Aunt at 8 years old. When my niece Kim was born,I remember that day so well because after waiting for 9 months I finally got to see her. I was like a kid at Christmas, Being the baby of the family, I was not around babies so that was a big deal for me. She was laying there in her little bed all soft and sweet and beautiful. My heart melted and I instantly fell in love. I thought it was super cool to be an aunt at 8. I did not know anyone that was an aunt at 8 years old! I was Aunt Sally and I loved it. With six brothers, I became the aunt of many wonderful nieces and nephews and I treasure each and every one of them. For many years I got to enjoy new babies born to the family. Then came my own babies. I never knew you could love anything so much. Being a mother and grandmother is the greatest joy of my life. It is so fulfilling and such a blessing.
Puppies and baby animals just make me smile. I grew up on a farm where we had puppies and kittens pretty often. I have pictures of me playing with them. We gave our children a beagle puppy for Christmas one year and they had so much fun with him and the fun lasted for many years. New life continues to bring us joy long after the games and toys are broke and tossed aside.
There is just something about new beings that is so sweet and special that even if you are poor you feel like you have been given the most expensive and valuable gift. I know Mary the mother of Jesus must have felt this way. I would have thought that the whole experience would have overwhelming for her but God must have picked someone that had one of those soft spoken, loving, caring and unselfish personalities to be the mother of Jesus. I believe God rewarded her with unbelievable joy as in Luke 2:19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.
To treasure is to put great value on an object, person or memory. It is a personal thing, a personal decision we make for ourselves to purposely value and protect whatever the treasure is to us. My prayer is that each and every person will search their hearts this Christmas season and ponder, as Mary did, the awesome gift we have received from God that has the power to change our destiny. It all started with a beautiful soft and cuddly baby born in a stable full of warm furry animals of all kinds.. Two of God's greatest creations brought together to start Christmas. How perfect.
Luke 2:10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
I want to wish all of you that read my blog a Christmas full of love and deep down Jesus Joy. If you asked Jesus into your heart you will know what I'm talking about.
Feel free to leave me your comments. Thanks
