Here are a 2 kitchen tips for this month.
Measuring Cups: Before measuring anything sticky or oily, rinse your measuring cups or measuring spoons out with water first. The water will act as a barrier between the cup and your ingredient and it will come out of the cup or spoon much easier. It will make your clean up easier as well.
Paper towels: Paper towels are good for more than just cleaning. When I am cooking hamburger, I put paper towels in a bowl then pour in the cooked hamburger. It absorbs most of the grease and I just put the oily paper towels in the trash. I then use the drained hamburger for whatever I'm cooking or freeze it in portion sizes so it is ready for future meals.
I often use paper towels to wipe any grease out of pans before washing them. I have had a clogged drain before because of grease and it's not an ideal situation. That is when I come up with the idea to use paper towels. This tip saves a lot of headaches and plumber fees.
Enjoy your time in the kitchen by changing the way you do things. It makes all the difference.
