If God put a help wanted ad in the classifieds, what do you think it would it say? Can you picture it in your mind? How would He advertise for the most important jobs in the universe?
Wanted:
Seeking a person of means to run my campaign?
Attractive, talented spokesperson to tell my story?
Famous writer to encourage people to read my book?
Does that sound like our Lord? No, it sounds like the world’s view of a qualified person. I’m not saying God can’t and does not use the wealthy, attractive or accomplished, I am saying he seeks out those whose hearts are set on Him no matter their looks, status, achievements or ability. He is an equal opportunity employer.
1 Samuel 16:7 NLT7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Matthew 5:8 God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.
According to the Bible, what would God’s help wanted ad say?
Wanted:
People of all races and ages who love the Lord God with all their heart and soul.
Individuals who love people as much as they love themselves. Matthew 22:36-40
People willing to work for, joy, peace, love and provided provisions plus a paid future of opulence. Philippians 4:19 Revelations 21:21 & John 14:2 NKJV
Would you qualify? If not, read and pray Romans 10:9.
If you qualify, are you willing to work for the Lord? If not, read James 4:17.
The world is all about fame, success, money and often greed. One slogan on a television ad says, “What’s in your wallet?” God’s slogan is, “What’s in your heart?”
There are so many ministries Like Revive Ohio that need volunteers. There are so many people who need assistance and love. There are so many prayers that need to be prayed and so many lives that need to be saved. I encourage each of you to ponder this post and pray about it. Know that God will enable you to do what He needs you to do. I love the saying, “God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called.” Prayerfully consider answering the help wanted calling that the Lord puts on your heart and know that you will be blessed to be a blessing.
Prayer
Lord, help us answer your call. Open our eyes to not just the physical needs but the bigger picture-the spiritual needs of our world. Lord everyday people are living and dying without you. The world is perishing right before our eyes. Open our hearts to care. Help us love people as you love people, Lord. Move us into mission opportunities and give us the ability to do what you are calling us to. In Jesus name, amen.
God Bless,
Sally
So very true Sally. God does the equipping, we just have to pray and keep our eyes open for the opportunity!
Such a great message and reminder!
