Don’t you just hate it when things are going well and you can see your future, then BAM, it all changes in a hurry and you find yourself saying, “What do I do now?”
I’ve had this happen a few times in my life, but of course, the most life altering was losing Mark. What I have come to know is, I don’t need to have all the answers in order to find peace. I just need to take one day at a time and trust the Lord. When we have a life altering change, sometimes all we can do, is just the next thing that needs to be done. Maybe that’s the key to getting through many situations; just do the next thing and don’t stress over the rest. We need to be still and quiet, take time to process, and listen to the Holy Spirit.
Romans 8:28 NIV28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
God has worked through many of the situations in my life in surprising ways, today I’m asking God, “Where are you leading me now?”
Waiting isn’t easy but it isn’t hard either. I just get up and live my life doing what needs to be done. I know I need to live my life trusting the Lord and letting go of anxiety over things I cannot and will never be able to control.
Albert Einstein said in a quote, “Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.”
What I have learned from yesterday is that God takes care of me, and things worked out mostly better than I could have imagined. Live for today-don’t get so wrapped up in the future when your loved ones are here TODAY! Hope for tomorrow-we can have hope because we trust in the Lord and we know from scripture that He works for the good of those who love him.

“Attract what you expect. Reflect what you desire. Become what you respect and mirror what you admire.” Unknown
Wow, there’s a lot to think about in that quote. Be careful, it’s a loaded quote and it can work for good or for evil. Search your heart and see what and who you want to attract, reflect, respect and admire. These decisions will alter how you live and how you handle things when life doesn’t go according to plan.
Prayer
Lord, help us navigate the rocky waters of our life. Help us take the time to pause and listen to your still small voice. When things don’t go according to our plans Lord, keep us from falling into the “WHY” pit of despair. Bring us back into the sunshine of your favor. Please take our hand and lead us forward. Help us mirror your image to the world. In Jesus’ name, amen.
God Bless
