Do you know what is as unique as your fingerprints? Your story. The story of all the twist and turns and adventures of your life. No one else has walked in your shoes but you! Others may have a similar life but not yours. Your heritage, DNA, relationships, situations and your personality make you uniquely different than another other human being, even your siblings.
Do you understand how cool it is to be so distinctive? You are not a mass-produced Barbie doll, you are uniquely made with a story, a testimony all your own. I love to hear about people’s lives. I really enjoy watching biographies but most of all I dearly love hearing people’s testimonies of how the greatest gift of God’s love has become their own.
As I write, I am thinking about all the things in my life that have moved me the most. These are things that have engaged me mentally, spiritually and emotionally. These things have changed my life in profound ways. They are: love, prayer, Bible Study, relationships, the birth and death of loved ones, adversities and last but not the least importance by any means-personal testimonies.
A testimony of how God has worked in someone’s life is one of the most powerful things they possess. It’s powerful because the Holy Spirit is in it when it is given. This type of testimony moves people in a way that only God can do. It creates a page, so to speak, in a person’s brain that the Lord has them revisit over and over throughout the years to garner gems for their own spiritual journey.
God created your life and gave you a testimony to share. This is a powerful way that God speaks to others through your voice or through your writing. We are the bridge that connects us to others and others to God. Our testimonies help people cross that bridge into His kingdom. Don’t be afraid to give your testimony because the Holy Spirit will help you through it. If you can’t say it, write it. The life you may save is more important than your discomfort.
So, did you ever think that those hard situations God brought you through could be used for His kingdom? Did you ever ask yourself how little old me could do something that could make a difference? I say tell your story of what God has done for you and how other believers touched your life and became a bridge for you. You don’t have to stand in front of a crowd to do it. No! You can tell your story to one person at a time. Now pray and ask the Holy Spirit to give you the courage and the words and go out and be a bridge for someone. Pray for opportunities to present the greatest gift you have ever been given, your own story of love, and make God smile.
1 Corinthians 13 (The Greatest Gift) -Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
Prayer
Lord you are the author of real love. The love that moves us to be better people that are able to show unselfish love to others. No other love is so powerful, lasting or life changing. May your Holy Spirit pour into us this greatest gift every day so that we become the vessel that pours it out into the lives of others as you intended. Purify us Lord and make us humble, loving and kind so we amend not offend. Give us the words and help us discern the moments you appoint. Forgive us when our courage leaves us and our tasks and responsibilities over-take us. We are powerless without you Lord. Thank you once again for your greatest gift and your greatest sacrifice, Jesus. In Jesus name, amen.
God Bless
